Save The Date, Save A Horse!

AZ Gives Day is April 2, 2019!

"No one has ever become poor by giving."

  ~Anne Frank

***Arizona Gives Day is less than a month away***

We are asking you, our generous supporters to donate on Arizona Gives Day on April 2, 2019.  No amount is too little, it all adds up!  The money will be used to provide hay, senior pellets and supplements to our herd, provide veterinary care, and possibly save a life!  We have secured grants in the past, but donations from supporters like YOU are the glue that holds our organization together.  Arizona Gives Day provides the perfect opportunity to donate from anywhere in the world during a 24-hour time period.

Individuals who donate $100 or more will receive our newly crafted Equine Voices' solid pewter, adjustable bracelet! One side features Gulliver, our mascot and the other side displays our adage, "A Place of Healing." While supplies last!

Go to or to make your donation on April 2nd!

Meet De Novo, One of Our Devil's Garden Mustangs!

De Novo is Latin and means "starting from the beginning; anew."  De Novo is a handsome, dark brown male who was rescued from Devil's Garden Plateau in Northern California and arrived at Equine Voices in late December 2018, to begin a new life!  He can often be found at the side of Cherokee, the herd's alpha mare.

Would you consider sponsoring De Novo or any of the other Devil's Garden herd for just $50 a month? Sponsoring an equine helps provide them with the best life possible while at Equine Voices.

To learn how you can sponsor De Novo or any other equine or burro, please visit our website at or call us at 520.398.2814 to find out how to become a sponsor!

Equine Voices Community Outreach

This past weekend was a busy one, as Equine Voices took our mission and vision of horse rescue and sanctuary to Tucson and Green Valley community events!

On Saturday, March 9th we were at the Heritage Days at historic Canoa Ranch, where pony Mickey was a hit as our equine ambassador.  Many thanks to Matt Smogor, Superintendent of Pima County Parks at Canoa Ranch for inviting us to this wonderful event! Thank you to Amanda, Karen and Janelle who staffed the event, spreading the message of Equine Voices.

On Sunday, March 10th, The Tucson Dog hosted the 1st Annual WOOFstock & Adopt-a-thon at Reid Park.  The Tucson community came out for a day of peace, love, and adoptions! Thank you to Karen and Brie for elevating the public's consciousness as to the plight of equine issues! Many thanks to Ann Herrington, Editor at The Tucson Dog as well as Adobe Veterinary Center for sponsoring the Equine Voices' table.

We look forward to attending these events next year as well!

Wild Horse Management Handed Over to Cattle Interests

USFS Hands Management of CA Wild Horses Over to Local Cattle Interests

According to the Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the United States Forest Service (USFS) are tasked with managing, protecting, and controlling wild horses and burros on federal lands that they administer.  But the USFS has abdicated that responsibility in the case of federally protected wild horses residing in the Devil’s Garden Wild Horse Territory (the Territory) on the Modoc National Forest near Alturas, CA.

Although the 300,000-acre Territory is home to California’s largest remaining wild horse herd, it’s increasingly endangered largely because of the unprecedented role that ranch and farm groups in Modoc County, along with the University of California Cooperative Extension, have played in all aspects of the USFS’s roundup and removal, holding, and disposition of these iconic animals, including the unprecedented plan to sell federally protected wild horses without limitation on slaughter.
