Thank you to Rangiora RSA Club and Restaurant who hosted the 100+ attendees at their newly refurbished facility.   • Two key changes come into effect for business owners on April 1st: the minimum wage increase and compulsory payday filing. If you still don't have a plan in place for your payday filing system, ENC Sponsor BDO have put together this handy checklist to ensure you are ready for the changes, and offering support if you are not.   • The latest Waimakariri Event Funding round is now open for the month of March. The Waimakariri Event Fund is a contestable fund provided by the Waimakariri District Council, managed by Enterprise North Canterbury and administered by Visit Waimakariri. If you are setting up a new event or growing an existing event in the Waimakariri District, you could be eligible for funding. Find out more here >>   

  • Immigration NZ is keen to hear from employers on migrant outcomes. They have developed a survey to find out from employers based in the regions what their experiences have been employing migrants. Responses to the New Kiwis Employer Survey are anonymous and all data collected will remain confidential. The purpose of gathering the information is to use it as the basis of creating new initiatives and improving outcomes for migrants within New Zealand. The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and can be downloaded here until March 20Those that participate have the opportunity to go into a draw to win an iPad.

  • NZTE is hosting their China Digital Marketing Conference in Christchurch on April 4.   • The first ENC Business Networking Event of 2019 was held last night (March 13th) at the revamped Rangiora RSA Club and Restaurant. Over 100 local business operators were in attendance, hearing from Heather Warwick of ENC as well as Ross Ditmer from the RSA. Attendees also had a tour of the new RSA building which offers a conference, function and event space for the local community. 

  • Congratulations to Ribbonwood Country House which was recently named one of the top 10 accommodation providers in the country by Booking.com. A well-deserved win for owners Gary and Robert. 

  • Pegasus-based Logan Smythe and Associates were recently awarded Insurance Business of the Year for the third time at the New Zealand Financial Services Group annual awards . Congratulations!

  • The popular Eats & Beats event returns to Rangiora on April 6thpromising an exciting lineup of music, food vendors and market stalls. 

  • The much-anticipated Port & Eagle Brewpub opened its doors on March 1st in the new Riverview Terraces in central Kaiapoi - welcome to the neighbourhood. The last month has also welcomed new businesses Infinity Intellectual Property, experts in trade marks, patents, design and all things IP; MissOrganised, professional organising service; and Social Beauty beauty salon in Oxford.
